The Essig Museum of Entomology
https://essig.berkeley.edu/
"The Essig Museum of Entomology, the collection component of the California Insect Survey, dates to the inception of the CIS in 1940. It houses one of the largest and most active research collections of arthropods in the United States. The collection maintains approximately 4.5 million specimens, primarily from western North America and the northern neotropics. The Essig Museum has always maintained a strong commitment to education and extension. This newly developed Website is an outgrowth of this commitment. Through it, we hope to facilitate access to information on the vast arthropod biodiversity of California and other areas."
