Garden State Film Festival
Held annually in Asbury Park, New Jersey since 2002. The festival celebrates local and independent filmmakers of New Jersey and the state's importance in the film making industry.

International Film Festivals
Berlin international Film Festival
Started in 1951, the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) is held every February. It is considered one of the "Big Three" of film festivals, along with the Cannes and Venice film Festivals.
Cannes Film Festival
Held in May at the Palais des Festivals et des Congres in Cannes, France. The festival is one of the oldest, it began in 1932, and most prestigious. The winners of the Palm d'Or (The Golden Palm) have gone on to win or be nominated for Academy Awards.
Toronto International Film Festival
Started in 1976, it has become one of the largest attended film festivals. The festival takes place in October and most of the films that receive the top prize have gone on to critical and award success.
Venice Film Festival
Started in 1932, the Venice Film Festival is the oldest. The festival is held in late summer on the island of Lido in the Venice Lagoon.
